Since this is somewhat off-topic in this thread, I will keep it rather brief:
One could change what is written in the FAQs related to this subject (I gave some details of what I mean in another thread already and could give at least one more example). One could stop discussing the question of CW-ing questions under the aspect whether it is justified that somebody gains reputation from it. Somewhat related, see the mention of the "problem" that somebody could gain reputation from merely expanding somebody else comment in the discussion on answers spoiled by comments (to be precise, the person bringing it up, I believe Ben Webster, considered it as a non-problem but thought it might be a problem for others). One could handle reputation in a more playful way in general...

ADDED: Since there once was some confusion in another thread, perhaps I should mention explcitly that I am not MO Scribe, and do not known her/him (and her/his motives).]]>

With all due respect, I don't understand why people are bothering to protest against a system that we currently have no ability to change. If they feel that strongly about it, they should help Scott roll out the new MO software that he's developing, so such changes can actually be implemented.

Must be some kind of protest against the reputation system. How is that even possible?
