This happens because of some javascript cruft I used to overwrite the editor with a customized one that handles math properly. There's no way for me to prevent the original editor from loading, so I start the custom editor (which unfortunately creates a second button bar) and hide one button bar (which apparently sometimes fails). If I can figure out jquery's typewatch, I'll use it instead of the customized editor. The one drawback that would have is that weird symbols in links won't be automatically escaped anymore.

I have seen this with Firefox 3.6.8 on Mac OS X 10.6.4. It comes and goes, though.

In the box Your answer which appears at the bottom of every thread, I often (but not always) see the markdown bar (the one with the hyperlink button and so on) twice.

This happens on Firefox 3.6.8 on Ubuntu 9.10. Do any other people here experience the same problem?
