A preview for the comment is more likely, but not likely any time soon.

For instance, I wanted to post a BCnrd comment as a community-wiki answer but when I copied and pasted it, it got all mangled.

Kludge: turn off javascript (thereby neutering MathJax) and copy the comment.

I think you meant ⌘A⌘C.

It's quickly done: Just ⌘A⌘C (on the Mac) or ⌃A⌃C (on other machines) will do it. Then if the formatting comes out wrong, I just copy into a new comment box. (Edited: I have these keystrokes in muscle memory, I hardly ever stop to think what letters are involved. Rest assured that Henry's response below was absolutely correct before this edit.)

Right now, if you write a comment containing LaTeX, and there is an error, you have to retype all of the LaTeX stuff. What would be nice is if there were a way to either "view source" for the entire comment at once or somehow copy the source to the clipboard.

No problems if you can't figure out how to do it using methods available to you. I just figured I'd give you the challenge and see how things work out!
