I think that this is missing the point as well. MO is not for talking about things. It's for asking questions that you would like an answer to. It's in the FAQ that MO is not a discussion forum.

That is, similar to the old saying, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it", on MO, you should think "if you have nothing important to ask, don't ask it". Participating in MO does not necessarily mean that you need to constantly be adding questions and answers.

I found the first question subjective and argumentative in the context of MO (but fine for pub discussion, of course) but I though the second and third questions were not so bad. I was one of those who voted up the question and as such I am tempted to vote to reopen, though I haven't done so yet.

(It still looks better to me than "math puzzles for dinner", but I think it's already been established that I'm a curmudgeonly outlier on that one, so ...)
