Actually, it looks like when Anton upgraded MathJax, he also moved it to a different path on the server. (Maybe I'm misunderstanding things, also.) The upshot is that for a while MathJax was just running out of people's browser caches. I added a soft-link server side so both URLs work for now, and we'll sort it out later.

@Peter: yes. Anton explained in a separate thread that he installed the new fonts for MathJax. This is because Firefox 3.6.13 made some security changes that broke MathJax, something (AFAIK) first noticed on Math.StackExchange.com.
This also causes some problem with older versions of firefox (3.6.12 for me), which can be solved by installing the STIX fonts.

In fact, I've noticed some changes to the way that MO has been rendering latex over the past day. Has something in the implementation changed? Currently for me, the latex is taking a long time to load and looks different to how it used to. (It seems bigger and bolder than before, if there is interest and someone explains how to do so, I could try to include a screenshot). This may be something particular to firefox, as I checked on ie, and the latex didn't look weird there.]]>

Is that a duplicate of this topic? Are you running the latest firefox? I am running the firefox 3.6.12 and I don't see any problem. Except for a double underscore that I fixed. I also added some backquotes around formulas with underscores in them, just for safety's sake.

I just posted an answer to Richard Stanley's recent question. The "\aleph"s and some other things are not getting rendered, making my answer illegible.
