I think it is legitimate to edit to bump a question, so long as it's done in moderation. You could make an inconsequential edit, but it might be better to make an edit pointing out that there are conflicting answers, and encouraging expert opinion.

I'm curious to hear an answer to http://mathoverflow.net/questions/3910/primary-decomposition-for-modules. So far, two people have posted, both giving opposite answers, and there's been no conclusion. One answer has more up-votes, but I'm leaning on the second answer. The question is in some sense a yes-or-no question: which definition is the right one?

My sense is that few people have looked at this question and that IF more people, especially experts, looked at it, one answer would clearly emerge as the correct one.

Am I missing something, or is there no way to bump a question back?
