I noticed this too, but it looks like it's largely a presentation bug. The owners did delete those answers, but before the OP deleted the question. The actual time of deletion can be seen in the revision histories.

Sometimes when a question is deleted and there are answers (necessarily with less than 2 upvotes), the answers get marked as deleted by the answerers, even though it is pretty clear from the timing that the deletion was triggered by the questioner. Here are two examples (for people with at least 10k points or mod powers):

Amen. Or even my own answers. I often remember answering a question and wanting to see what I wrote. My alternatives are to page through my answers by hand or to run a google site search for speyer together with some keywords. Someone with access to the database should be able to do much better.

Of course, I could learn to use the MO public dumps.

This is a new feature request: How about an option for questioners to promote or nominate a comment to the status of answer? For some reason, people often answer a question via comment. Several times I've gotten a comment that seemed like a good answer to the question, if not the best answer. One idea would be to allow the questioner to instantly promote any comment into an answer. But if commenters are answer-shy, for some reason, then alternatively the questioner could nominate the comment for answer status, but the actual promotion of the comment to answer status would not be achieved until the commenter accepted the nomination.

i don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, or if it is under your control, but i have several interesting tags and several ignored tags, and somehow the ignored tags trumps the interesting tags. i think this should be the other way around.

Here's one I'm tempted to post in the appropriate place, let me know if I shouldn't: a moderator (or sufficiently high rep person) making a question "community wiki" masks the identity of the original questioner (and, I presume, an edit on a question already marked "community wiki" does the same), whereas an edit on an ordinary question does not. Even if a question is community wiki, I'd like to easily see who first asked the question.

I've updated the list to remove the ones that have been completed (or declined). The most important one in my mind right now is the fact that the preview doesn't agree with the final output, which has been causing lots of confusion about underscores. I've also submitted a 6 line fix for most of the problems, so it should be easy for Fog Creek to implement.

@fedja: Yes, I forgot to add that one to the list (I've updated it now). Hopefully, they'll fix it in beta 5. If you really want to search for questions that have a pair of tags, you can do it by typing the url yourself. In fact, you can do arbitrary boolean combinations of tags; see tip number 12 on the Tips and Tricks page. Basically, when you search for a pair of tags, you get sent to a URL like http://mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/algebraic-geometry+commutative-algebra, which is broken. Just change the "+" to a " " (space) in the URL and it works! http://mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/algebraic-geometry commutative-algebra

I get them too but just reloading the page usually takes care of them. What I really want to report is the following behavior: if you are in Questions, choose one tag first, get the list of topics with this tag, and then click on any tag in the automatically generated list of "related tags", you get blank screen instead of the list of topics with both tags. Since search by combination of tags seems one of the main ways to look up posts here, it would be nice to fix it. I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 under Windows XP, if it matters.

Also those random checks if I am human are plain irritating: it makes sense to do them once when registering an account but what's the point in running them on active registered users?

There are a number of bugs we'd like to have fixed in Math Overflow, and a number of features we'd like implemented, but we only actually have control over the cosmetic aspects of the site. If a real feature is going to be implemented, it has to be done either by the Stack Exchange team or the Stack Overflow team. So I propose we have a central place where we collect the feature requests and bug reports on meta.stackoverflow and meta.stackexchange that are important to Math Overflow. If you have an account at meta.SE of meta.SO, please vote up the ones you think are important.

On meta.SE:

Advanced search options. SE sites don't currently have advanced search options, which allow you to search for posts by a particular user, containing a particular phrase, with a certain number of votes/views/answers, etc. The S[OFU] sites have advanced search features, so this shouldn't be very hard for the SE team to implement.
Option to undo CW mode.
Erroneous "you can only comment every 30 seconds".
Preview for comments.
Support for mathematical markup (LaTeX). We now have jsMath, but ideally, converting mathematical markup to math should happen before Markdown processing, so we don't get weird bugs from the interaction of Markdown and mathematical markup.
Markdown preview doesn't agree with final output. This has become a much bigger issue since we implemented jsMath. It's been fixed in S[OFU], so it's just a matter of time before those changes are merged into SE.

On meta.SO:

RSS feed for favorite questions.
Apply rep cap only to reputation from votes. This will become important soon enough.
Allow comments to be edited. This has been implemented on S[OFU], so it's just a matter of time.
