When I updated to MathJax 1.1, there was an extremely brief (~20s) period where I forgot to specify the config file in the footer javascript that loads MathJax. If your browser cached that bit of javascript, then clearing the cache as Sean suggests should do the trick.

@Kevin: Can you try it in a different browser and / or another machine? Also clear the browser cache and refresh the page. If you still see the error then please report an example page and the browser / version / operating system. Thanks, Sean

I keep getting this error message?

MathJax no longer loads a default configuration file; you must specify such files explicitly. This page seems to use the older default config/MathJax.js file, and so needs to be updated. This is explained further at http://www.mathjax.org/help/configuration
