@geraldedgar: this is an interesting idea. Somewhat amusingly I think it will in fact give those from the last 24 hours and those from 48 to 72 hours ago (yet not those in between).

Occasionally I will go to the question page and search for the string "ago" ... that gets me the comments from the past 24 hours or so.

No, unfortunately. I dimly remember that the RSS feed for a question contains entries for comments, but I haven't verified this (and RSS doesn't suit everyone).

Is there any way of tracking new comments on a given question, without actually going through it all? It is easy to identify new "answers" in the existing format, but I have not ...
