If I have an answer. And a 2000+ rep user goes in to fix a typo. Do I get a notification (the same way i get notified when someone comments on my post or answers my question)?

Likewise with "minor edits" like grammar, etc.
@WillieWong: Excellent idea to have the "minor edit" option get rid of the bumping! I was wondering how to get around that... ]]>

As far as I can tell, the consensus was that this request is not technically feasible, in that it would require access to the innards of StackExchange which we lack. Its desirability is at least somewhat in doubt, in that part of the point of having questions "perk" is that people can't edit things like other people's posts without attracting notice. As annoying as it is when, say, the entire frontpage is filled by a tagging rampage, it's probably for the best that we notice when people go on tagging rampages.

http://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/2866/feature-request-dont-include-minor-edits-in-sorting-questions

There the problem of bumping is being addressed, but if it were possible to have 2 distinct types of edits, I would think that it would be possible to have different rules both for bumping and for making things cw. ]]>

At the time of the edit, the user can specify if the edit is trivial (for fixing minor things like spelling or punctuation) or major (for mathematical mistakes or new content or something like that). Trivial fixes don't count toward the "8-edit and CW rule" but also don't bump the question on the home page. Major edits do.

If you think this request if reasonable, please also post some comment on how to better refine the differences between the two!
