Maybe you should cut down on your light-hearted remarks?

Please go to tips and see tip 1. The same can be achieved through rss, via Anton's suggestion.

I apologize if I was rude. I have edited and polished my response.

One suggestion though: Use google chrome. It is the best. But chrome does not have a good support for rss feeds, and this was why I started using google reader. You can try netvibes also. I have switched to netvibes after a while for various reasons; but didn't want to bring up an unfamiliar name here.

@Harry. Wow.

@Kevin Lin: I'm not sure what browser you use, but every page on MO has a corresponding feed symbol. This means that you can have an RSS feed of the main page, an RSS feed for each tag, and an RSS feed for each individual question. So if you don't feel like checking back to MO all day long, you can just sign up to the RSS feed on your question. In fact, this meta discussion has its own feed subscription symbol. In Opera, the feed symbol appears at the right of your address bar. I don't know where it is in firefox though. ]]>

That is mentioned in the tips to the right. It is easy enough to find. You should occasionally look at the tips!

I do not feel that these things are not meant to be in FAQ. You either use rss feeds, or you don't. It is something technical for normal users of the web, it seems. If you are a regular rss user, you will find the rss links yourself anyway, in the pages you see. It is like, as soon as you think of buying a Mercedes, you notice it everywhere, and hitherto you never bothered.

And maybe someone can include something about RSS feeds in the FAQ?

Of course, for actual answering or commenting, one has to click and open the MO page itself. Still it is nice to keep things within google reader and open MO itself only when necessary.

The problem is, refreshing the feed in google reader does not seem to reflect the latest content; there seems to be some delay. The new questions, or recent activity of a user, seems to appear in the RSS feed only after a while. So it is not as effective as refreshing the MO frontpage or MO user recent activity page.

Is there a way to get around this?
