I like the question (though I haven't voted to reopen). It doesn't ask for everything under the sun, because it asks for 'interesting and well-sourced examples'.

Irrelevantly, Yemon, I don't understand what you mean by 'hypo-allergenic' in this context.

It's hard for me to imagine a field of mathematics that isn't influenced by social context. IMO the question is asking for everything under the sun.

@Ryan Budney. I think OP means very specific social influence - as illustrated by example of Luzin's school. So it is not everything under the sun.

The question I like to think of as hypo-allergenic to historians of mathematics currently has three votes to re-open. Would anyone like to discuss their reasons for thus voting, or offer arguments why it should remain closed?
