General makes almost no sense to me as a tag. I can almost see that if you ask a question and know of no other appropriate tag you might be tempted to tag it as "general"...but ...
Putting "general" in with other tags makes precisely zero sense as far as I can see.]]>

I wonder (a) whether the [general] tag should exist at all, and (b) whether it is worth doing something about the existing instances of this tag.
