A recent answer listing, where an answer was down to -12 in the voting, came out like this (at least in Safari, may vary with browser I guess):

I wonder if this would also happen when an answer goes above +100 --- has that ever happened?

I am currently using Firefox on Linux and, when I view that person's profile, it puts the "-" and the "12" on the same line, so maybe it is indeed Safari? I'll have a look at Safari later after I get home to see how it looks to me there.

    Regarding your last question:

Yes, 11 times. See the list of recipients of great answer badges . The user papes of the respective users should lead you to actual instances. Two I happen to know by heart are on constants that turned out to be rational (Gjergji's answer) and a proof without words by Mariano.

OK, an answer voted 288 is on one line in Safari.

I suppose it could be argued that the display og negative numbers should use U+2212 MINUS SIGN (−) rather than U+002D HYPHEN-MINUS (-), which really is more hyphen than minus. In particular, a line break is allowed after the hyphen-minus, unless strictly forbidden by CSS.
