On October 20 we had a 4.0 earthquake centered in Berkeley, then a 3.9 the same day. Today we had a 3.2 about an hour ago. This did not happen before MO.

Maybe *exactly this* didn't happen before MO, but the only time I ever experienced a nontrivial earthquake was at a conference at MSRI in 1989.

Well, if you were at msri on 17 October 1989, "The epicenter of the quake was in the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park in Santa Cruz County, an unpopulated area in the Santa Cruz Mountains (geographical coordinates 37°02′24″N 121°52′37″W / 37.040°N 121.877°W / 37.040; -121.877),approximately 2–3 miles (3–5 km) north of unincorporated Aptos and approximately 10 mi (16 km) northeast of Santa Cruz. The quake was named for the nearby Loma Prieta Peak which lies 5 mi (8 km) to the northeast in Santa Clara County."

It is true, though, very few have epicenter in Berkeley itself, the closest I recall before this was a near-surface one in El Cerrito, years ago.
