    Hi,

I lurk MO a lot. I enjoy reading threads which generate a lot of discussion. It would be cool if I it was possible to search for threads which generated a lot of views/responses/reputation points in the past. I can imagine there were hundreds of interesting threads like that which are now very difficult to find.
Is there any way this could be done ?

I do not think there is a direct way on the site for most of the things you ask for. For views, you could get some things via the badges. Got to the badges, click 'famous question', you will see who git the badge then go to that user's page where you should be able to find the respective question. Perhaps some more is possible using badges.

However, if you are willing to play with the database dump I assume you could do what you want. For example, Akhil Mathew wrote some perl script(s) for example to get highly voted comments see http://people.fas.harvard.edu/~amathew/MOsearch.html for both the result and the script(s).

So, I think it could be done with some effort.

You can find the questions that have the highest votes by clicking on "Questions" and then "Votes", which takes you to this page: http://mathoverflow.net/questions?sort=votes . There don't seem to be equivalent pages for views or responses.
