Earlier there was a bug over on MSE where people's profiles disappeared behind a 404-esque message. It transpires that was due to a leap year glitch in the code.

The same bug seems to have bitten MO, so I thought I'd flag it here.

I am experiencing a similar bug. I can not access my profile right now and see the following error message:

    Oops! Something Bad Happened!

    wait, I'll fix it

We apologize for any inconvenience, but an unexpected error occurred while you were browsing our site.
If you didn't do anything weird to get this error page, please consider reporting this error at our feedback forum, meta.mathoverflow.net.

    Both may be related.

    The kitten is cute, though.

    Might be an actual improvement.

I have the same problem. I wrote to Anton about it.

The kitten is, indeed, extremely cute.

I've written the SE team to see if the fix can be pushed to MO. If not, the problem should go away tomorrow. If you want to fix your profile page in the mean time, edit your profile page by visiting
    http://mathoverflow.net/users/edit/XXXX
where XXXX is your user number. Either remove your birthday or change it to a leap day. The problem is that the back end chokes when computing the difference between today and when you were born.

Update: It seems like it's difficult for them to push changes to SE 1.0, so we'll just have to live with this until midnight local time.

In my experience, when the cat is trying to fix the cables of the TV it usually ends up badly.

  5.
It is impressing how much a little cat can distract annoyed users.

    Asaf,

did not realize the preview screen would be quite so large...

Apparently a cat is fine, too.

For the advancement of science, I propose that the bug, once found, be submitted to http://thedailywtf.com .
