Three times today I had problems trying to write mathoverflow answers in a Chrome browser. The mathoverflow tab froze up and I could not type anything else. I could not cut and paste what I had typed, but fortunately I was able to recover it by some hackery with the Chrome developer tools (SHIFT-CTRL-I, then enter document.getElementById('wmd-input').value in the console window). Has anyone else seen this problem? I have never had it before today.

Using Chrome on Mac, as well as Linux, but have not yet had the same problem.

Some people (including me) have had this problem for awhile on math.SE, but I've only very recently had it on MO (Chrome in Windows).

@Qiaochu: may it be because MO just very recently upgraded to MathJax 2 from the 1.x versions?

@Willie: That would do it. That's when people started having this problem on math.SE. I wasn't aware that MO had also upgraded, but I suppose I should've deduced it.

  4.

@Willie: how recently? Perhaps that is the cause of the spacing problems I've seen in some versions of Firefox, that I posted about elsewhere here.

About five days ago, see Anton's comment in this thread.

Hmm, if anyone works out how to reproduce this, I'm sure the MathJax people would love to know. https://github.com/mathjax/MathJax/issues
