I am a user of the Math.SE and Mathoverflow. In MATH.SE I see that I am allowed to edit comments, but here in MathOverflow, suppose you have a spelling mistake and enter the comment, then you have to retype it again. Wouldn't it be a good idea to allow user to edit their comments within a duration of 5 minutes or so?

We can't change that part of the software, only the StackExchange people can and they've stopped adding new features to the SE1.0 software.

If it is critical that the comment be perfect, place a draft in a text editor, place it as an MO comment, if it does not work edit the text draft, comment again, and delete the faulty version. This helps because not all Latex/ MathJax stuff works predictably in comments.

Whenever (well, if I remember this defect in time) I post a comment with TeX in it, I copy before posting. Then, if I have to fix a typo, I just paste into a new comment box for that, and delete the original comment.
