What is the main difference between a [closed] question and one that is not closed? I'm just curious, because it seems as if people can still vote and comment on closed questions so I'm a little unclear about the point (other than to simply label it as such which, perhaps, is the only point). This is not meant as a criticism, by the way. I'm just curious.

  1.
Once a question is closed, new answers cannot be submitted.

I believe this is the only difference. After a question is closed, the author can still edit the question, and the answerers who answered before the closing can also still edit their answers.
