MO is not for opinion questions, where you can't select the "right" answer or even say one answer is "better" than another.

So where is the place in the WWW where mathematicians can discuss opinions?

For instance, I would like to ask "How can we connect pure maths more to other sciences?". One solution would be via http://a.freshbrain.com/solvr/d/howto-connect-pure-math-sciences but I guess this is not satisfying and I don't know where to post this link.

Maybe there is no such place. Maybe most mathematicians don't want to go to such a place (and prefer discussions over real coffee).

I don't know if such a place exists on the internet. One possibility that I suggested before was math reddit, but I don't know if it would be any good for this purpose.

Math Reddit is awful. My suggestion would be to attempt to start and popularize a blog or, failing that, ask someone with an established blog to write a post for you. (Gil Kalai is one blogger in particular who might be interested in such questions.)

Yeah, having access to a blog may be the only good alternative. I hear that a sufficiently interesting question on the requests thread at the Secret Blogging Seminar can get you somewhere </shameless>.

OK, done. But the comment didn't appear. I guess it was flagged as spam by Wordpress because of 2 links.

If SBS is set up the way my blog is, the first time any given person posts a comment, it has to be approved by hand before it can appear.

I rescued your comment from the filter. SBS is not set up to automatically screen first-time commenters, but there is a filter that tries to screen spam for us, and it marked yours. As far as I know, it is a Bayesian thing so I can't tell you exactly what will set it off.
