Perhaps Noethersch is the German translation of Noetherian?
And yeah, Mark Meckes, the final "er" in Nöter should be pronounced like in gangster -- "gangsta", I mean. Or lover -- luvva.
Either Noether or Hilbert coined the term, I think, so "Noethersch" probably came first.
