    I dunno --- not sure if I like the change. It doesn't look to me so much like it's "overflowing" anymore!

    Indeed. I've never used TeX with a right-to-left language, so every single overflow I've ever had had the overflowing ink on the right! :P

    Maybe the box could be stretched a bit further to the left, so that it looks more like the "math" is "overflowing" out of the box?
