    Does the grades that people get in their comments have an influence on their reputation?

    Nope. It's all for fun! (More fun than actually getting reputation, since unfortunately more people vote for comments than questions and answers).

    OK. But they [the comments] do get ordered according to the grade they've received, right?

    They stay in order, but sometimes comments with lower votes aren't shown until you click "show/add comments". Depening on how big the thread is (the number n is dynamic based on the size of the page), the best n comments are shown in chronological order.
