I was notified a few days ago that I had earned my critics badge because of a down vote. I checked my history and see that I voted down something on the question "Undergraduate Level Math Books." Looking at the page I evidently voted down "Milnor, Topology from the differentiable viewpoint." Hadn't meant to do so --- I suspect I accidentally clicked the down vote arrow on the touch screen of my iPad. Is there any way to undo this? (I tried voting it up, but the system won't let me. It briefly flashes 18 and then reverts to 16 with the down arrow highlighted.)

What you did should work. Clicking on the down arrow should remove the vote, and clicking on the up arrow should switch it to an upvote. I just tried these on a question, and they worked fine. Have you tried reloading the page and things like that?

If you wait too long, you can't change your vote unless the post is edited.

    Ah. That makes sense.

If memory serves, this is one of the big-list CW questions? In that case, jhschenker should be able to edit the post and thereby unlock it to changing votes.
