Interestingly, today almost all of my questions got both a downvote and a close vote, with no comment left. This happened right after I opened a meta thread about having a well defined policy in closing questions. Could someone explain me what might be going on? Is someone trying to give me a message that question closing is personal and arbitrary, and it will stay the way it is?

I believe moderators have a took that automatically finds this kind of behavior. You (or town downvoter) should hear from them soon.

I voted to close two of them, but somebody else already voted to close all of them (if you take a look, you can see that two of them have two votes to close. Those were me.).

@Harry : I think it is extremely bad form to go and vote to close questions of a user with whom you have a conflict. Even if a vote to close is appropriate, it has the appearance of impropriety, and thus you should let other people do it if it has to be done. And in this case, I don't think that any of the user's open questions deserve votes to close.

Well, I'm not the one who voted to close all of them. I said what I did on meta because I don't want to be accused. That's more than one can say for the person who actually did it.

I'm not accusing you of voting to close all of them. I'm just saying that given what happened earlier today, it was extremely inappropriate of you to vote to close any of the OP's questions.

EDIT : As a side remark, situations like this will come up in more serious forms in your professional life. For instance, I decline to referee papers of people with whom I have had some kind of conflict if I think that there is a chance that I would recommend not accepting them.

    I'm looking into this now.

@Andy, so you accept to referee them if you think you are going to accept them? :)

@Mariano : That's right! And I have definitely written positive referee reports on papers by people with whom I have had some kind of conflict.
