Thierry Zell pointed out that there is no "fair division" or "social choice" or, I suppose, "voting theory" tag,
    http://mathoverflow.net/questions/37276/fairest-way-to-choose-gifts
There would appear to be a number of possible names for a relevant tag, see
    http://xaravve.trentu.ca/pivato/Teaching/voting.pdf

I was going to explain to him that he had enough points to create a tag himself, but why not ask here for the best choice as there are a few possibilities, then I thought it would be quicker to do it myself.

On a topic like this, I'd go for the blandest possibility. Of the above, that would be "voting theory" (I guess "voting-theory" since we're not allowed spaces).

Thanks, Andrew. Later last night I stuck on a tag for fair-division, as this particular question has that emphasis more than voting-theory. Then somebody else put the existing mathematical-economics tag, and that makes up the five alloted for the question. If there is ever a question that is undeniably voting theory we can worry about it some more.
