I recently tried to remove some of my favorites by going to the favorites tab and clicking the little stars to making them become un-highlighted. After refreshing the page, they are back to being favorites. I have tried a few times, to no avail to remove these favorites.

No offense to the original questions, but I just have too many favs, hehe.

Rather than refreshing the page, click the main MO link to navigate to the front page, then go back to your user page and see if it's still a favourite then.

I would guess what's happening is your browser is caching the favourite star. If the above doesn't work, do whatever it takes to remove all cookies and stored information from your browser, and repeat the above.
