    This topic: http://mathoverflow.net/questions/8445/learning-topology is not appropriate for this site, but the answers are. I feel like maybe instead of closing it, we could just community wiki it and change the description.

    You should flag the post for moderator attention rather than posting on meta, unless the point was to discuss whether or not this question should be wiki. It looks to me like it should be, so I'm converting it.

    @Harry -- sorry for the misunderstanding.

    What I'd intended by that email to you and Qaiochu was that whenever an argument starts in the comments, the ideal is that either the 2nd or 3rd comment of the argument (i.e. the "antagonist" immediately, or the "protagonist" as soon as they realise there's an argument) is a "please move this to meta <link>" comment.

    e.g.

    "This is really lame, I hate everyone --- Alice" "No, life is wonderful, this is the best question ever --- Bob" "I still hate you. Please continue this at meta <link> --- Alice"
