For as long as MO has used MathJax, I've noticed that a lot of the characters were malfunctioning (in particular, symbols like \bigoplus, \bigotimes, \prod, \coprod, etc) (in particular, they were offset downwards (the baseline was assumed to be the middle of the character, not the bottom)).
Anyway, I realized that the thing causing the problem was that I had installed an old version of the "mathjax fonts" from the mathjax package, the public beta version of the STIX fonts, and the jsMath fonts. I deleted all of them and installed the 1.0 version of the Stix fonts, and now everything looks the way it should.
Just posting this in case anybody else had similar problems.
Okay, now I'm having the following problem, but only in Opera (a substantial improvement from before): \mathcal gives me chinese characters (when the STIX fonts are installed at all).
@Anton:
Davide posted a workaround that you could set up.
http://groups.google.com/group/mathjax-users/browse_thread/thread/3d0aacec28049a2
I've implemented Davide's workaround. Could you please test it for me? (You should clear your cache and remove the mjx.menu
cookie from MO)
(Note to future self: Davide created an issue in the tracker for this problem. When that gets resolved, undo this workaround)
Fixed!
Thanks.
No, thank you! (No touch-backs!)
